Tom Mullally was born and raised outside of Boston, Massachusetts where he began his restaurant experience at the age of 17. He went to Johnson and Wales Culinary School in Rhode Island. He received a culinary apprenticeship in Switzerland where he studied under numerous Europen Chefs for 4 1/2 years. In 1994, Tom came to Myrtle Beach. He spent 7 years with Sea Captain's House as Executive Chef, where he won many culinary awards. He served for many years as a Chef Instructor at Horry Georgetown Tech as well as teaching cooking classes to the public. In 2001, Tom was asked to become Executive Chef at Nick's on Sixty-First where in January 2002, he and his staff were awarded The Renaissance Gala Grand Award for fine dining.
After much local interest in customizing culinary cuisine, where busy professionals need to rely on premier food as well as service, Tom started his company A Difference in Dining. With his partner Randi Rimedio, Sommelier, and his Executive Sous Chef, Steve Hughes, A Difference In Dining has been creating truly enjoyable dining experiences for people for the past seven years.
